"Every week is totally exciting. I can't wait to see
what I am going to get next." - Carol Vicino
It's About Health
As an expression of our reverence for creation, the
mission of Sisters Hill Farm is to grow healthy food which nurtures
bodies, spirits, communities and the earth. We are a not-for-profit
farm owned and managed by the Sisters
of Charity of St. Vincent De Paul of New York.
Helping the Local Community
The Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul of New York have
been advocates for people who are poor for more than 180 years.
This project is a natural extension of that work.
One of the farm's main goals is to share a portion of the harvest
with those in need in the local community, whether it be direct
to families, or to soup kitchens and pantries.
Great Food
We believe that you and your family deserve the highest
quality food and that's why we grow our produce using methods
that comply with organic standards. We view our farm as a living
system and treat it with respect and care. We spray no chemicals
for pests or weeds; we just use old-fashioned back-breaking work
and a couple of Farmall
Cub tractors! We grow more than 100 varieties of some 50 vegetables,
all chosen because of their superior taste and nutritional health.
A Sound Investment
Another important goal is sustainability: for
the land, for the farm projects, and for the local farm
community. Since we are driven by health, not profits,
you can be assured of getting your money's worth.
