Is Sisters Hill Farm a CSA and What is a CSA?
Yes. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, a mutually beneficial relationship between a farmer and local consumers. Members receive incomparably fresh local produce throughout the growing season in exchange for ensuring the farmer a living wage and providing for production costs. Both partners share in the risks and rewards of small-scale farming: weather, insect damage and bumper crops that taste fantastic.

CSA restores the lost connection between people and agriculture by providing an opportunity for members to be directly connected to how their food is grown. It's about more than just vegetables! Part of how we restore this connection is by providing pick-up times at the farm and other locations, where the members can up see the operation, pick their own food and more.

How Much Food Will I Get?
Shares will vary with season, ranging from 4 to 15 pounds a week. Our experience suggests that this will be enough to feed an average size family or two vegetarian adults.

When Can I Pick Up My Share?
You have a choice of four pick up sites and times:
    • Tuesday: Sisters Hill Farm in Stanfordville [4 to 6p]
    • Tuesday: Mt. St. Vincent in the Bronx [4 to 6p]
    • Tuesday: Unitarian Church in Yonkers [4 to 6p]
    • Saturday: Sisters Hill Farm in Stanfordville [8 to 11]

Can I Share a Share?
Certainly! You can split a share with your friends each week, trade pick-ups or share with someone just for the summer if you go on vacation.

What Happens to Food that Doesn't Get Picked Up?
One of the farm's main goals is to share a portion of the harvest with those in need in the local community, both here at the farm and in the Bronx. If you ever forget to pick up your share or miss a distribution, you can be certain it will be put to good use.
